How's that connection treating you? slowly I"m guessing...apparently there's a little rumour going round that a fat chunk of cash from each internet bill each month is going directly to pay for the new stadiums. Now i know this seems bizarre and utterly unbelievable but..... lets just have a little look here.

£ondon is xxxpensive, really. If you compare a single item to the cost of it back home it's usually at least 3 x more here. which is obviously relative to your earnings but that's beside the point for this exxxample.

beer: £3.50 / R16.00 - 3 times more here
cigarettes: £5.60 / R22.00 - 3/4 times more here
internet: £14.00pm / R250pm - about the same

This is already strange. South African internet prices should be around R70, according to the relative costs. But take a look at what i get for £14.00 a month. 20mb connection speed, uncapped line (i have downloaded over 16gigs in the last 4 days) and free wireless router - plus the first 2 months are free. There are other deals too where you can pay for Broadband, satellite TV and land line for about £30 a month. That's R400 a month for DSTV, unlimited weekend calls on your landline (incl. cell phones), overseas calls for R1.20 a minute, unlimited broadband internet and a million TV channels.

kinda makes you wonder....

So by some cosmic coincidence, this bad boy by Andy Warhol is going on auction nexxxt month - Auctioneer's have no idea how much they will get for it. All they had to say was "highest bid wins."

My guess is around $650 000 - otherwise $2.5 million - heal the world.

Kingsland Road is very similar to Woodstock/Saltriver main road in terms of shop fronts, available products, prices and its general rundown appearance - with one big difference - Anyone can walk this street alone at any time, day or night, without having to worry about being robbed, stabbed raped or murdered. It has happened once or twice yes, but in general this street pumps with party passion every weekend until the wee hours of the morning, mainly with drunk kids making there way home after a long night out.

Anyway, here's a little something special that i found - a cake shop, with a difference. This guy can make you a cake in any shape, form, colour or style that you can imagine. If you can think it up, he can produce it. This was my favourite. The Louis Vuitton handbag cake.... now anyone can afford a little Louis, even if it is only once a year - God save the dream

Should young offenders, serving community service, wear orange jackets?

This is the big question that highly-payed officials are trying to answer. This is not a site dedicated to discussing politics and what's right or wrong, but rather a small, broken window into the world that I am living in. So here it is, you decide - but one thing that you can be sure of is that this is the kind of debate that will not go unanswered on the streets/walls of £ondon.

The other day I noticed the remains of an old JR wheatpaste behind the market in Bricklane...pieces of poster still glued to the wall where one of his portraits used to sit. I decided that these scraps were not simply worthless pieces of paper no, they were the remains, the only physical evidence left of something that was beautiful - Not only do JR's wheatpastes constantly remind us of time passing through their fading existence but his remains of what once was now seem to emphasize their own absence.

I am currently working on a new series of works using actual pieces of other artists work as my main medium.
These paper skulls below are made from bits of the original JR wheatpaste shown above. For more of his amazing work click here: www.jr-art.net

This is one of the joys of £ondon. I mean, where else in the world would you be heading for a book store and end up at a trance party? Whilst quietly minding my own business Saturday last weekend my body and spirit were shaken out of daydream mode by loud banging trance music - some guys had pulled together a little rig and set it up on the temporary shores of the river Thames. (this river is controlled by men not God therefore little beaches sometimes conveniently appear)

Honest, law-abiding citizens, with children and responsibilities, seemed thoroughly entertained by the rare site of what we have all seen and exxxperienced back home on many occasions - dilated pupils, scattered cans of Red Bull and the overwhelming feeling that everything is going to be okay - God save the Dream
